| Event Description: | Jan Potocki’s epic novel The Manuscript Found in Saragossa is the story a young person’s journey of discovery. In 1739 Alphonse van Wordon travels through the treacherous Sierra Morena Mountains in Spain to accept a commission as an officer in the King’s elite Walloon Guards. On route, however, Alphonse is diverted for sixty-six days and is forced to live with gypsies, bandits, cabalists, a geographer, demons, the Wandering Jew and others who slowly influence his worldview. Using physical storytelling, circus arts, and dance as well as live and recorded original music, this ensemble piece created by Lookingglass Theatre Ensemble member, Christine Dunford, will be an exploration in physical theater. |
